Dian's Bio

Get to Know Dian:
- Dian is a native of Centralia, WA. and has been sewing since childhood.
- She started quilting in 1978, making her first quilt for her daughter to take to summer camp.
- Dian was an active organizer of their local quilt show, which has been identified as the largest show between Portland and Seattle.
- Her machine quilting adventure began in 1995, when she purchased her first longarm quilting machine.
- This has opened many new, creative, and innovative pursuits. Dian is experienced in both traditional and contemporary types of quilting designs and has been very successful with antique quilt restorations.
- She has designed wall hangings and clothing using the “Thread Painting” method.
- She has taken one more step and is using paints on the fabric and then thread to embellish the item.
- Dian has attended Machine Quilters Showcase for 9 years - exhibiting, modeling in the fashion show, and selling her new pattern line.
- Always taking classes to learn new techniques.
- In 1999 Dian bought a new quilting machine: A Proto with Stitch Wizard. It regulates the stitch length, which allows her to do even more free hand quilting with perfection.
- Dian has taught at MQS, Innovations, Machine Quilters Expo, Longarm University and Quilted Treasure as well as traveling around the country giving classes and lectures.
- She has had a garment on TV and in a Sulky’s publication.
- She also did a segment for Quilt Central on BPS and has had her sweatshirt in Fons and Porter magazine.
- Dian’s work has won many awards. Now her husband Bill and her are doing shows selling the Proto Stitch Wizard Longarm quilting machine.
